At Fhoster s.r.l., we are committed to respecting and safeguarding the privacy of our customers. This Privacy Statement describes how we handle your personally identifiable information and account data that we collect directly and indirectly when you are on our Web site (www.fhoster.com) and/or using our Livebase service (the "Service").

Please read carefully this statement to learn about our Privacy Policy. This is an official informative note pursuant to article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679 (GDPR), and to article 13 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree no. 196/2003).

By visiting our Web site and using the Service you consent to the information and data processing practices described in this policy. Remind that the use of the Service is also subject to and controlled by the End User Agreement.

Data Processing Locations
All the data managed by our Service is stored and processed in the European Union, mainly in Italy. Some of the data gathered from our web site for marketing purposes and customer support are also stored and processed by third-party services based in the United States of America. All third parties guarantee their adherence to the Privacy Shield between EU and US (Commission Implementing Decision EU 2016/1250). For detailed information on which services are used and for which purpose, please refer to the technical version of this privacy policy.

Collection and use of your personally identifiable information
Your personal data will be processed in strict and complete respect of this Privacy Statement, manually (by personnel properly trained about privacy and GDPR, who have entered into a confidentiality obligation) and/or automatically by systems that guarantee security and confidentiality.

When you register for the Service and create your account ("Account") you are required to provide a user ID and an e-mail address ("Registration Information"). An activation code is sent to the e-mail address provided to confirm its validity. A valid e-mail address must be provided and confirmed to provide you with any customer support requests. This data is required to provision the Service.

When you use the Service, we silently and automatically collect the following data for statistical and security purposes, especially for intrusion detection: date, time and duration of your working session, IP address and geo-localization of your device, the type of browser and device you use.

When you subscribe a paid version of the Service, we collect the data required for invoicing: name of the legal entity, fiscal code and VAT ID, legal address, country.

When you submit a request for more information on our web site, the personal data you provide (name, e-mail address, organization, country) are not stored on our database but they are included into an e-mail automatically sent to our customer support.

If you decide to comment on our blog, forum, or community board we may ask you to provide an e-mail address, which won't be made visible to others, and optionally your name and a URL, which will be made visible to others. We kindly ask you not to post personal information as a comment to our blog, given that you take full responsibility in case you do it.

If you submit to us any personal data related to other people (e.g. if you are a business owner and you create accounts on our service for your employees, or if you subscribe them to our newsletter) you declare that you have the authority to do so, you are entirely responsible in their regards as Data Controller of the personal data you submit, and you implicitly give us permission to process them in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Collection and use of anonymous information
Whenever you visit our Web site, we also automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser including your IP address, browser type, referrer page, domain name, access time, entry page, exit page, operating system type, and search engine keywords used.

We may also record page views (hit counts) and other general statistical and tracking information. This information is collected automatically by our systems and requires no action on your part. Apart from your IP address, which is used to support various security related features, this information is not associated with your personally identifiable information.

We analyze and use this information with the only purpose to better understand how our Web site and Service are used, to improve the value and user-friendliness of the Web site and to detect and resolve any technical problems. To help us record and understand the traffic through our Web site we may also use a third-party service, such as Google Analytics or Web site page counters. In this case, no personally identifiable information is recorded by the third-party service, nor associated with the aggregate anonymous information.

In order to collect and manage personal and anonymous information about our visitors, our website also uses commercial services provided by third parties. For technical information on which services are used and for which purpose, please refer to the technical version of this privacy policy.

Your Rights
At any time, you can exercise the rights provided by article 7 of the Italian Privacy Code (D-Lgs. 196/2003) and articles from 15 to 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679 (GDPR), by sending your request via e-mail to the Data Controller at the e-mail address antonio.leonforte@fhoster.com.

Specifically, with regard to your personal data that is collected and/or processed by Fhoster, you can exercise the following rights:

Disclosure of your information
Your data may be viewed or accessed by our technical staff only for the purposes of support, backups, maintenance, debugging activities, or suspected violation of the End User Agreement for usage of our Web site and the Service, or as may be required by law.

In general, we do not share your personal data to third parties. Above all, we never sell this information to commercial users or make them available in any other form. However, there are some limited circumstances in which we may need to disclose your personal data to other companies or people. These circumstances are described in the following.

Should Fhoster (or a company branch) be acquired by another company, such company will become the new Data Controller of your personal data (of just of the part of your personal data which is strictly required to run the company branch) and it should therefore send you an updated version of this privacy policy and request again your consent for processing your personal data according to that policy.

Fhoster web site and its Service use cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information that any web site or service can ask your browser to store on the hard drive of your computer, and that it can later retrieve to recognize you when you access it again.

Cookies do not take a significant space on your hard drive and do not harm your computer. For example, we use cookies to store your country preference. This helps us to deliver a more personalized user experience.

It is possible to switch off cookies by setting your browser preferences, however turning cookies off may result in loss of certain features on the web site or Service. For technical information on which cookies are used and for which purpose, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

For both security and privacy purposes, your account is password-protected. None of our systems stores user's passwords but just their fingerprint calculated using a secure dynamic hashing algorithm.

We adopt modern security methods at all architectural levels of our systems (operating system, DBMS; applicative services) to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the protection of your data and applications. Any transmission to/from our web site or our uses SSL encryption.

All our systems are located in a tier 3 data-center featuring redundant power lines plus physical e logical security measures. We also backup each of our databases at least daily, and the backup files are automatically encrypted and transferred to servers located to a geographically separated data-center.

Links to other web sites
The Fhoster web site (the blog, mainly) may contain links to other web sites. Fhoster is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites. The links from our web site to other web sites do not imply that Fhoster endorses or has reviewed such web sites.

Notification of changes
Occasionally, we may change our privacy policy. In this case we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on our Web site prior to the date the policy modification takes effect. We will also update this statement with those changes. Any new policy will not apply to information previously gathered without your express consent.
